check to see if all vaccum fittings are attached to the side of the intake manifold
Yes, it can cause the cruise to surge.
LeftLeft
The combination, or multi function switch is the switch you use to turn on the blinkers, the windshield wipers, and cruise control. Oh and it's on the steering column, left side.
The cruise is fed by the engine computer. If the engine starts and runs, it is not a blown fuse.
The fuse for the cruise control on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side or in the engine compartment fuse box. You can check the owner's manual for the exact fuse number and location. If the cruise control is not functioning, it’s also a good idea to inspect the brake light switch and the cruise control module, as these can affect its operation as well.
The cruise control is fed by the engine computer through the brake light switch. It does not have a separate fuse.If the engine runs and the brake lights work, it is not a fuse.
you can pull the two wire connector on the front of the master cylinder. this will dsable the cruise control. there is also a recall (fire hazard) on that connector as well.
Pullthe plug off cruse unit under hood
Possibly for the optional Cruise control.
To change the cruise control switch and cable on a 1997 Crown Victoria, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Remove the steering wheel and airbag (if applicable) to access the cruise control switch, then disconnect the wiring harness and remove the switch. For the cable, trace it from the throttle body to the switch, disconnect it at both ends, and replace it with the new cable. Reassemble everything in reverse order and reconnect the battery.
I am not sure what you mean by reconfigured. If the cruise is not working the first things to check are the vacuum supply to the servo and to check the pcm for trouble codes.
