AnswerTac off means traction off, when you have low traction the "low traction" light will come on but if you turn it off the "trac off" light will come on. So basically it means your car will not tell you when you have low traction. Is your ABS light on as well? A common problem with recent Grand Ams would be the speed sensor located inside the wheel hub. If this sensor goes haywire (like many, many have), you will have to replace the entire hub. The sensor itself is not serviceable. FYI.there is a button you can push to turn the electronic traction system off and on my 2002 se has it on the dash right by the hazard light button some models have it by the shifterthe traction system controls the engine so when wour wheels slip it corrects the problem giving you extra traction
