Also, It doesn't matter if it is on defrost, heat, vent or whatever. It never overheats until you turn the thermostat control to hot. Then the gauge goes up. You turn it back to cold and it goes back down. I checked the heater core and thermostat. Any ideas? Thats a strange one. Heater settings should not make a difference in the operating temperature of the engine unless some kind of electrical malfunction is preventing the radiator cooling fan from coming on when the temp is set to hot. Check to see that the fan is running when the heat is on and maybe you will have a place to start troubleshooting the problem.

Hi,U need to find a heater connection that supplys water to heater,it is found on the top of engine,between the heater control unit & engine,its a large tube like a radiator hose,on top of the that is a bleed screw,its actually in the hose,u may have to feel around for it,but thats the bleed point,just unscrew it a bit & water should trickle out,but b careful its very small,so take care,ALB Keithy

On '94 its behind motor under dash on passenger side Passenger side on the bottom of the heater box. You will see a plug with 5 wires on it. Thats the resistor remove the two screws that secure to the heater box and remove it.

Thats a vacuum leak. The vacuum lines (7/32" and 5/64?") dry rot after a few years. There is a "vacuum storage" ball, either on the hood, behind the Driver's side hood hinge or behind the fender, depending on your model. The vacuum for this and the controls comes from a "t" off of the PCV check valve. Find the ball and check the hoses.
