thats the heater control valve
Loosen the clamps and carefully twist the hose where it connects to the heater core. If you are wanting to bypass the heater core, just run one of the hoses between the two places on the motor where they connect or put a short piece of pipe between the two hoses.
Use a 1 to 2-inch piece of pipe that will fit inside the heater hoses and clamp with hose clamps. You nay need to put a little grease or vaseline in the inside tip of the hoses so you can slide them on over the pipe.
Disconnect both heater hoses at the firewall in the engine comaprtment. Use a piece of pipe about 1-1/2 inches long that will fit inside the hoses you disconnected. Place each end of the hoses over the piece of pipe and clamp with two hose clamps.
You will need a piece of pipe about 2" to 3"long that will fit inside the diameter of the two heater hoses at the firewall and two hose clamps. (1)disconnect the two hoses at the firewall; (2)slip a clamp on each hose;(3)slip the piece of pipe into both hose ends to connect the two hoses together; (4)install and tighten clamps on each end of hoses over pipe. (You might want to put a little grease on the pipe for easier removal when you are ready to install new core.) Start engine and check for leaks at the connections.
With out a lot more info I can't help you. Go to the dealership and ask for a printout of the heater hoses etc in that area to identify the part.
disconnect both heater hoses at the firewall and splice them together using a piece of pipe same diameter as inside diameter of hoses. insert a 3-inch piece of pipe into both hoses and clamp both hoses on it. good luck
connect a piece of heater hose from the thermostate housing (where one of the hoses connected to from the heater core already is) to the connector for the coolant at the bottom of the enigine (where the second line should be connected).
no it wont, because the 97 is a 700r 4l160e and the 99 is a 4l60e, the 97 is a one piece transmission and the 99 is a two piece transmission, on the 99 the bell housing can be removed and the 97 is a one piece.
Remove the heater hoses from the heater core at the firewall and hook them together. In order to connect to two same diameter hoses together, get a 5 or 6 inch piece of pipe which is the same diameter as the heater core tubes from which the hoses were removed. Install the pipe halfway into one hose and secure tightly with a worm-drive hose clamp. Then once secure, do the same with the other hose.j3h.
This question is a bit confusing. It needs more information. If it involves installing a new heater core, you will really need a good repair manual because this job gets to be quite involved, and is not one that I would recommend for the average do-it-yourselfer. EITHER CONNECT TOGETHER THE HEATER HOSES THAT GO 2 THE HEATER CORE WITH A 1/2OR3/4INCH STRAIGHT PIECE OF PIPE ORCONNECTOR - OR INSTALL 2 BLOCK OFF PLUGS WHERE THE HEATER HOSES USED 2 B CONNECTED ON THE ENGINE.
find the two hoses leading into the heat core, normal at the back of engine unscrew the clamps on both sides an gentle turn and pull at the same time until they come apart. With both sides off you will need a short piece of pipe to fit inside the hoses. join the hoses together and use the clamp.
