I had this happen on my 2004 Suburban and the only way the dealer could solve it was to replace the entire stereo and CD unit. They told me that they have seen this happen on many suburbans. The service manager even gave me a copy of the service alert that GM sent out to dealers about the issue.
Begin by removing the cover to your 1996 Chevy Suburban CD player. Remove the CD player retaining bolts. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the CD player. Reverse the process to install your new CD player.
place another CD into the slot on top of the CD stuck push downward and at the same time push the ejext button. may have to do this multiple times
Disconnect the battery or pull the correct fuse for the CD player, wait a minute then plug it back in. This may work for you.
I had the same problem with my 2004 TB EXT LS V-8. The type of radio I have also included the cassette feature. My CD got stuck found out the cam that pushes the CD out broke. Was cheaper to simply replace it with a used radio. Note: Because the radio is tied into your factory security system, You will need to have the replacement radio re-coded by a Chevy dealer or it will not work.
Dude i have the same exact problem i put my CD in and nothing will eject or play
burn the car! trust me
I have an 04 Malibu and had the same problems, or mine wouldn't load. Also it would get stuck on fm1 and not skip to fm2 or CD player. I contacted carmax where i bought it from and they said there was a recall on a computer chip and that was most likely the problem. They fixed it free of charge and it doesn't get stuck anymore, however; it does overheat and scratch all of my cds. Hope this helps. I say take it in or call a Chevy dealer and ask if there is a recall that you qualify for.
If it stuck in your CD system your going to have to take the CD system out of your nisson and either take and have professional do it or take off the lid and other material and take in it from the top
Purchase a replacement
If you are able to see the cd, or at least an edge, try to pry it out very carefully with something thin, or using pliers. If it is hard stuck, your only option is to remove the player from the dash to get at the cd.
To free a stuck CD in a 2004 Renault Clio, first try turning on the ignition and pressing the eject button multiple times. If that doesn’t work, you can try gently shaking the car to see if it dislodges the CD. If the CD remains stuck, you may need to remove the stereo unit from the dashboard to manually extract the CD. Always take care when handling the stereo to avoid damaging it or the car's wiring.
If it is the 1-cd AM/FM player, hit your dashboard, right above the center vents. Hopefully you didn't really jam it in there.
