INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Condition/Concern:
A customer may inquire about the availability of the passenger compartment air filter.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Starting in 2003 model year, the passenger compartment air filter is no longer available as a factory option. With the redesigned HVAC case, there is no longer a cavity for the filter. The GM parts catalog indicates there is a replacement filter available; however, there is no provision for it.
In 2002 and prior years, the filters are located beneath the glove compartment
1. Open the door to the passenger side of the vehicle
2. Locate the kick plate under the glove compartment
3. Remove the two screws holding the kick plate cover in place
4. Push the hush panel down exposing the door to the cabin air filter access panel
5. Unclip and swing the door to the right
6. Remove the first used cabin air filter by pulling it straight down
7. Remove the second used cabin air filter by sliding it forward and pulling it straight down
8. Replace the two used cabin air filters with two new cabin air filters ensuring that the filters are in the correct direction
9. Reverse the above procedures to reassemble the vehicle components
