The big question is what wire go's where.
On my 97 Jeep Wrangler Sport I wired as follows; First: the gray tach wire and magnetic pickup are not used, Second: the heavy red (pos +) and black (neg -) to the battery, the 4 remaining wires will hook up between the coil-pack plug and harness.
Cut the plug off leaving enough wire to attach the street-fire (S/F) wires. So let's start with the plug, my TJ colors are solid Gray and Green/Black stripe.
Attach the S/F Orange to the Green wire on plug; attach the S/F Black to the Gray wire and plug it back in the coil.
On the harness side attach the S/F White to the Gray wire from the harness; attach the S/F Small Red to the Green wire from the Harness.
Close the hood and go.
Easy. Your coil + to the THIN red wire. Your coil - to the THIN white wire. The MSD BOX THIN black to your coil - and then the MSD BOX ORANGE back to your coil +.

MSD had a module a few years back that would convert a tach signal. Not sure hear da rumor about using a wire off the obdii port, but never seen anyone with a mitsu do it and work. Have seen the MSD tach adapter work superbly.

yes it can be

No, it is actually very easy. Most modern ignition systems have a simple plug in to accept many different rev limiters. The most common is a MSD system.
