If oil pressure is low or drops to near zero during an idle, the bearings are shot and the engine needs to be rebuilt. If the compression is low (run a compression check on all cylinders) on one or more cylinders, you probably have bad valves. If you have blow-by or burn oil you probably have worn rings and/or tapered cylinders. If you EVER hear heavy knocking when the engine is first started you probably have bad main/rod bearings.
