Remove the belt from your Mercury alternator. Remove the wiring harness from the alternator. Remove the retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new alternator.

If you are standing directly in front of your vehicle the timing belt is located to the left side of the motor and the alternator is located directly behind the timing belt.
