To open the back hatch of a 2003 Chevy Blazer when the actuator is malfunctioning, you can try using the manual key entry if equipped, or accessing the hatch through the rear seat. If the seat is foldable, you can lower it to reach the hatch area and manually pull the release lever or cable if visible. Alternatively, you may need to use a slim jim or similar tool to unlock the latch mechanism from the outside, or consider removing the rear exterior trim to gain access to the actuator.
Why would the back window on a 1996 Chevy Blazer not open when you push the button to open the hatch?
The blazer must be in park for the rear hatch button to work. If you have the blazer in drive the button will not open the hatch unless it is in park!!! If there is still a problem maybe try checking the fuses! The actuator could be broken in the rear that releases the window so you can open the back. This happened to my 2003 Blazer and my neighbor's 2002 Blazer. By removing the back panel (high likelyhood the panel will break when you remove it) and replacing the actuator that could solve your problem. Both I and my neighbor would have had to order the whole actuator in order to replace the tiny plastic piece that broke. Instead we drilled a whole and rigged it with some tough wire. remove the panel from the inside of the rear hatch door and check to make sure the latch mechenism is secure if not push or pull the leads to open hatch door then try to reconnect them
