The 2nd Generation Tracker's pull handle hood release is in the usual location, above your left knee, sitting in the car. Unlike the 1st Gen which is in the glove compartment. Pull it, hood pops up, go outside and lift the safety lever, lift hood.
The hood release is in the glove box.
It's an open front differential if it is stock. So is the rear differential

I go crazy everytime I have to open the hood on my 98 Chevy Astro. The guys just say "oh it's a Chevy" and they bang the hood. I have found that if I stick a butter knife unde the hood I can open it. What a pain!

I own a 92 year tracker and mine is in the glove box. Just reach in feel on top and pull lever.
It is under the hood on the right (as you face the car with the hood open) near the front. The battery terminal posts are actually pointed towards the interior of the car and not up.
open your rear cargo door and look to the left side ...door will have a small turn knob and will be removed front to back.... this will be located inside the Tracker behind the driver side tail light
To open the hood on a 2002 Toyota Camry when the hood release cord is not working properly, jack up the car and use a long pole underneath to trip the hood latch. Replace or repair the cord before closing the hood.
