I have dealt with this problem before at our bodyshop. Basically, a spring inside the latch has broke, and now there is no way to release the latch, even by manually pulling on the release lever at the latch. Prepare to replace the latch, as it is not repairable. Be prepared to be working inside the car. To make it easier to work, unbolt the seat, and remove from the car. Remove the door panel, and also the door handle. You will have to chisel at the plastic part of the latch, and break it off bit by bit. Eventually you will be able to release the latch. good luck
The hood latch on a 1979 Lincoln Mark V is located at the front center of the vehicle, just behind the grille. To access it, you typically pull the hood release lever inside the car, located on the driver's side near the kick panel. Once the lever is pulled, you may need to reach under the hood to release the secondary latch mechanism.

If the cable is intact, inspect the latch mechanism itself for any debris or rust, and clean or lubricate it as needed. If the latch is damaged, it may need to be replaced; you can remove the interior panel to access and replace the latch. Reassemble everything and test the release to ensure it functions properly.

If the hood latch on your Hyundai Tiburon isn't working, you can try pulling the release cable from inside the car, usually located near the driver's side footwell. If that doesn't work, you might need to access the latch directly by using a long screwdriver or similar tool through the grille to manually disengage the latch. Alternatively, you can also check underneath the front bumper for access to the latch mechanism. If these methods fail, consider seeking professional help to avoid damaging the hood or latch.
