To program a PATS key for a 2000 Lincoln LS, you'll need two working keys. Insert the first key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position for about three seconds, then turn it off and remove it. Insert the second key and repeat the process. If successful, the system will recognize the new key, allowing it to start the vehicle. If you only have one key, you may need to consult a dealership or professional locksmith for programming.
To program a key for a 2000 Lincoln Navigator, you'll need the original key and a new unprogrammed key. Insert the original key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine, then turn it back to "Off." Repeat this process eight times, ending with the key in the "On" position; the locks will cycle to indicate programming mode. Now, within 20 seconds, insert the new key and turn it to the "On" position for a few seconds to complete the programming.
To program a new PATS key for your 2001 Ford Windstar, you will need two working keys. how do i program keyless remote for 2000 Buick LeSabre
Yes, you can. Actually you don`t program the key. Key remains unchanged, you just program the car to accept this particular key.
If it is '96 or up, then it has PATS and you are in a bit of trouble. The car will have to be towed to the dealer because only the dealer can program the car to accept the computer chip that is in the handle of the new key that will have to be cut. A true locksmith can cut the key and program it right where the car sits for 1/3 the price, but the dealerships will not tell you this. Try every Ford key you can find if its not PATS. My husbands F-150 ford key works in the back glass of my Mercury Villager. His is a 95 mine a 93.
YES,YES, I am looking for a spare and it cost about $100 ,because of the pats
Yes. The 2000-2003 Sable uses a PCM PATS System. Only dealer or locksmith can program these keys into the vehicle. If you have 2 working keys, you can program more by yourself. See "Related Questions" below. Although written to the Windstar, the procedure is the same for the Taurus/Sables
If you want to program a new PK3 Key, there is a procedure at the bottom of the linked page.Take Care,Greg
