What do you want to program? There are a whole lot of things that can be programmed ? Anything from speedometer cause of bigger or smaller tires to the timing, if you change the rear end gear ratio you can program the speedometer. If you use 92 Octane you can program the computer to change fuel injector pulse time to give more horsepower in conjunction with timing, air flow, spark plug reaction delay or early fire, you can make your transmission shift like it has a shift kit built for a race car. It shifts it hard!!! believe me, been there done it. don't need a valve body disassembly and taking the tranny apart cause the computer will do it. It is mostly for heavier towing. I know it has a tow haul button but the tow haul works more with rpm horsepower than it does fast hard shifts for quick clutch disk slippage. if it shifts faster and harder it makes the clutches last longer but a few downfalls to that is replacing U joints a little earlier than a soft shift tranny. but u joints are cheap, not rebuilding the tranny. Also have to have a shell in the 4l60E tranny called "the beast". notorious to break in a grandpas truck. GM updated them to that thicker shell in the tranny but I don't know when. My 02 Silverado shell busted but I pulled car trailers and cars and trucks all over the east with a 1500 series chevy 4.8 vortec, smallest one and it was a work horse. it didn't break the shell this 122,000 miles. I pulled loads that everyone said you need a 2500 or 3500 to pull a 24 foot long extra wide allsteel 2 axle trailer with the weight you pull and in the mountains a lot up hill, down hill up hill, etc. everywhere over in the Appalachian mountains in East Kentucky and West Virginia. I am an engineer. I used to design the automated machinery that put car parts together at high rate speeds usuallyeveryone wants 1 product a second. depending on what it was of course and engineers always under rate the capacity for a cushion or safety factor, it is standard in almost everything in the world if it was designed by a very skilled engineer. Also because of laws from the DOT. i'm not saying go put a big dozer on the trailerwith a 1500 cause youmight in 4wd get it to rolling if your flat but it would grunt the trucks a hole out and it would have a hernia or 3?anyway good luck. and ask what you need programmed cause it can all be programmed.
