Your keyless remote might not work for your 2002 Chevy Tahoe because the battery in the remote is dead. You can replace this battery by prying the remote cover off of the back of the remote or by removing the screws holding the cover closed.

How do you program a keyless remote for a 2007 Chevy Tahoe?
On the right of the speedo cluster, press the second button down on that set. Continue to push until you see relearn remote. Once you see relearn, push and hold the check button, which is the bottom button on the same set of buttons. Hold it for about 5 seconds; it will say relearn active. Then hold down the lock and unlock at the same time on the remote for about 5 seconds. You will then hear a beep. Do the same with the other remote. To close out just push the same button you started with, second from the top.

You definitely do have to resynchronize our keyless entry remote after changing the battery. The car manual clearly states that you need to (although it doesn't say how).
