How do you program the remote key fob on a 2002 Chevy Avalanche?

This is the procedure i used on my 2002 avalanche:

1). close all doors.

2).insert key into ignition (do not turn)

3). hold down power unlock on drivers door panel, (keep held down till instructed to let go).

4).RAPIDLY switch ignition ON, OFF, ON , OFF... (ON meaning as far as key will turn without trying to start engine)

5). Now release power unlock button, the vehicle should cycle door locks, (lock , unlock doors automatically), to indicate that it is in the programming mode. IMPORTANT!..all transmitters need to be programmed at this time, (when a new transmitter is programmed it will deactivate old transmitters programming).

6).push LOCK, UNLOCK on new transmitter simultaneously till the doors lock and unlike respectively ( this can take up to 45 seconds).

7). repeat the step 6 for each additional transmitter.
