The 2002 Chevy Avalanche does not have user replaceable radio bulbs. The radio needs to be dismantled by a qualified technician to replace the bulbs.
http://www.corvetteradios.com/ sells the bulbs for the GM k1500 radios. They have a diagram showing how to solder them to the circuit board on their site.
no
if its your vehicle take it to the dealership they will do it free of charge
I just did this to my radio. You must remove the radio for the dash. Open the radio to reveal the circuit board and solder new bulbs on the board. I found the bulbs at Radio shack online.
if your stereo is no longer illuminated, sorry for your luck. these bulbs are inside the radio unit, and are soldered in place, if you are familiar with how to solder, you might be able to disassemble the radio, and replace them, but its probably less frustrating and time consuming to replace the stereo, with a new or aftermarket unit.
I was told that the bulbs are not replaceable. You have to replace the entire pad.
Not in a 2003 Avalanche. Just buy an adapter harness. I paid about 75.00 for mine
under hood in fuse box, radio near the driver side in the middle of a row of three fuses.
I bought a used 2003 avalanche and the soeakers have no sound. Radio works and has power but no sound. They seem to be connected (speakers) so is there a fuse maybe
I just took my 2004 silverado to the dealership before my warranty runs out. The radio had a light out on the tuner knob and I had a light out in the dash behind the oil pressure. The dealership told me that the radio would have to be replaced and the dash membrane would have to be replaced. I asked them point blank about the radio light. They said "No way to replace the bulbs." I don't get it, but they replaced the radio under warranty. Yes bulbs are replaceable. You need to track down the replacement chevrolet/delco bulbs remove the burnt out bulbs using solder and then reheat the solder and install the new replacement.
i work fro a Chevy dealer and when your display goes bad it means radio replacement time. if your dash light work and not the radio you will need to replace the radio
It started when they found out that there was a avalanche reading on the radio
