On a 2000 Ford Explorer :
The jack is stored in the cargo area , behind the removable plastic panel
on the drivers side , near the liftgate
Lower the jack down and then raise the jack by hand so the top of the jack
is held securely by the vehicle bracket
On a 2000 Ford Explorer : There should be a lever on each end of the seat bottom that allows you to put the seat backs down to increase the cargo area
Under the axle tube directly below the leaf springs ( factory jack used with Explorer )
Open the compartment on the left side of the luggage area. Take the jack ludge from the inside of the compartment cover and use it to lower the jack about one inch. Remove the jack when there is enough space between the top bracket and the jack to remove it. To put it back simply lower it, put it back and extend it to make sure it does not move during driving.
If it's not in a spot, which is really convenient to the spare, or new tire, then just keep it stowed in the back.
How do I put on a 2001 ford explorer cylinder? I am in the process of changing my front brakes and the cylinders will not push back in?
different part numbers. I don't think they interchange.
yes you do. jack up under engine, put a block on jack so not to hurt engine, only put enough tension to re move left motor mount .then replace belt, put mount back on, lower jack, then check mount bolts fo tightness. 3.1 Chevy engine in 2000 Malibu!!
yes!! by the starter and put it in!

On a 1999 Ford Explorer ( using the factory jack ) Front tire ( there are " hooks " on the front of the lower control arms ) Rear tire ( under the axle tube , below the leaf spring )

On a 1996 Ford Explorer : On the front of the lower control arms you will see a hook ( or bar ) The factory jack is put there to change a front tire
