I have a 89 s10 and the steering wheel had to be removed to do the job. I'd say your best bet would be to get a repair manual and it will go through the job step by step for u.
Remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck ignition key tumbler. Slide the ignition key tumbler out. Remove the wiring harness from the end of the key tumbler.
Remove the inside door panel. Remove the linkage from the key tumbler. Remove the key tumbler retaining nut. Reverse the process to install the new key tumbler.
With no key you will have to drill out the existing tumbler assembly from the switch in order to unscrew the ignition switch bezel.
I broke my key in the ignition and cant get it out. My only option I can see, is to replace to tumbler. How do I remove it?
remove the ignition tumbler from column and crank it with a insulated handle flatblade screwdriver if the ignition is located in the dash remove key tumbler by inserting a small pin in the hole located above the key hole and it will pop out using a screwdriver and turn it over that way
Key or ignition tumbler is worn. If you cannot remove the key, then you will have to remove the tumbler assembly and replace it. If you can get the key out, then try a key that is not used very often. If it works, have a duplicate made of that key and destroy the other key with the problems.
The lock/tumbler has to be in time with the ignition switch. I suspect it is not.
Use the key.
No it does not if it is a s10 blazer
turn key to acc then stick a paper clip in the little hole in tumbler then turn counter clock wise there you go
