first you remove the shift linkage, and all wires and lines going to and from the trans. Then you remove the drive shaft. You do this by loosing the u bolts that hold the drive shat to the rear end. then you support the rear of the trans with a jack or a piece of wood just something to hold it up. Then you remove the rear mount at the aft of the transmission. Then you unbolt the trans bell housing form the back of the block then slid trans down to the ground and its out.
