Loosen and remove mounting bracket (on top of alternator) be careful not to lose any of this bolt (very hard to find replacements). Remove alternator belt. REmove lower mounting bolt. Remove from engine. Reverse to install. All done. diesel Jetta: mounting bracket is on the bottom and engine mount is on the top. that's the only difference. same procedure. have fun!
