To remove the ignition switch from a 1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royal, first disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues. Then, remove the steering column covers to access the ignition switch. Use a flathead screwdriver to release the retaining tab and turn the switch to the "off" position while pulling it out. Finally, disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the switch before removing it completely.
on the distributor or near there
It doesn't have a distributor. It has a Distributorless Ignition System AKA DIS.
No inertia switch on an Oldsmobile.
im not to sure about the 88, but the 85 (i think are the same)disconect the battery. turn the ignition to run. remove the stearing wheel, then the lock plate behind it (using a lock plate depressor, remove the ring that holds it from popping out) after that, there are a couple screwes that hold in the ignition cylinder-remove them and pull it out with the key. need to know more about delta 88's? hit me up at cardomain@: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3115056
No it doesn't.
ignition switch or the starter, or ignition moudule or maybe a bad ground those are comon problems
It could either be a bad ignition coil, a bad ignition rotor, a bad ignition cap, a bad ignition control module (if equipped), or a bad coil to cap wire.
My guess would be a weak ignition coil. Same thing happened to my delta. Wouldn't start in cold weather. Changed the ignition coil (60bucks) and it's been starting good ever since.
To replace the headlight dimmer switch on an 87 Olds Delta 88 you need to open the instrument panel under the steering column. Next, remove the two screws holding the switch in place, remove old switch, and reverse directions to replace with new switch.

The light bulb or the taillight lens? Open the trunk to replace the bulb.
disconnect the battery, then the wires from the starter. Then remove the bolts holding the starter to the engine.
