take the nuts off the bottom side
When looking at the engine, there is an engine mount on your left at the top between the heads,if you have access to a trolley jack and a lump of wood take the weight of the engine. At the mount remove the earth wire and remove the 5 nuts on the casting with 19mm socket, remove the casting and you will see the pump remove the auxillary belt from the pump pulley and remove the pulley. There is a plate located on the block between the heads and several bolts remove the 2 hoses and then remove bolts make note of positions of bolts so they go back the same way, pull pump away from engine.
Use a jack with a board on top to support the engine. Loosen the bolts for the motor mount. Raise the engine slightly then take the bolts out and remove the motor mount. Install the new mount, tighten the bolts, then remove the jack.
lift engine by removung the motor mount bolts. jack up engine and remove oil pan bolts
the book says to remove the exhaust manifold bolts so you have the clearance, i don't recommend this because most of the bolt heads will snap off (don't know why they put steel bolts into aluminum heads, should be studs) try removing a bolt out of the engine mount and raising the engine on one side (starter side) then remove the wires then the mounting bolts and remove the starter. reverse process to install.
Loosen the transmission mount retaining bolts. Loosen the back to engine retaining bolts. Jack the transmission of approximately 1 inch. Remove the transmission mount bolts. Remove the transmission mount. Reverse the process to install the new transmission mount.
The upper engine mount is on the passenger side of the vehicle right in the middle of the engine. There are 5 bolts holding it on. The bolts are a size 15mm deep socket. Remove the two bolts on either side. Jack up the engine from the bottom, underneath the oil pan, using a piece of wood between the jack and pan. Now remove the 3 bolts holding the mount to the engine. Replace the mount. Screw 3 bolts back in. Lower the engine and screw the two side bolts back in.
Begin by removing the engine wiring harnesses. Remove the motor mount retaining bolts. Disconnect the engine from the transmission. Lift the engine out.
Support the engine gently by spanning a wood 2x4 across the middle of the pan and jacking it up slightly. Then remove the engine mount at the upper passenger side. The entire bracket must be removed from the engine. This is necessary so that the engine can be slid to the right when removing the transmission mount along with its engine bracket. The bracket must be removed to or else the transmission mount can't be removed. There will be a total of 8 bolts to remove to allow the transmission mount to be removed. There will be a total of three nuts and 6 bolts to remove to allow the engine mount to be removed. Two of those bolts are accessed from inside the wheel well.
u need to support the engine with a cherry picker and then remove the long motor mount bolts. after u have done that remove the engine mount brackets from the engine. then lower the engine down on to the front axle. this will give u plenty of room to reach over the head and remove the bell housing bolts. there are usually only two not three and sometimes they require a torx socket.
It has two bolts located in the wheel well that hold it on from the bottom and two bolts that hold the top in place. The assembly also has two bolts in the top that attach it to the t shaped bar that is attached to the engine with three or four bolts depending on the year. The way to remove it is to take it out in pieces. The first piece to remove is the t-bar that is attached to the engine. Support the engine from below with a jack and a good board placed below the oil pan. Remove the two bolts from the top of the mount and remove that plate to expose the two bolts other bolts holding the t-shaped bar to the mount. Remove the 3 or 4 bolts from the bar attached to the engine. Remove the bar in this order because if you don't then the motor mount has to much give in it to be able to remove the bolts from the top of it, and you are likely to strip the bolt heads. I've done it and I've changed the mounts before. Once you have the bar removed then you can remove the bolts from the wheel well and the whole mount assembly will come out. Parts stores generally only sell the rubber insert for the mount, and dealerships only sell the whole mount. Once you decide which part you want (mainly depending on the amount of money you want to spend) then just follow the steps in reverse to reassemble. It only takes about 30 minutes tops if you have the right tools. Its also good practice for when you have to replace the serpentine belt. You have to remove the bar attached to the mount to replace it.
drain the oil, remove engine mount bolts and raise the engine 3-4 inches, remove the starter and block to bell housing brackets. remove the pan mount bolts( you may have to take the tranny lines loose if an automatic) drop the pan.
Support the engine of the Durango with a jack, using a board on top. One at a time, remove the bolts from a motor mount. Raise the engine slightly, and remove the mount. Replace the mount and bolt it in. Repeat on the other side.
