Remove guage cluster trim bezel, remove center guage air vent trim bezel, remove 6-8 screws including 2 long ones in the defrost duct, pull CAREFULLY dash pad towards you.
Access is now gained from the top.

to replce the sealed beam headlamps on a c4 corvette you must turn the headlights to the second on position and while they are still turning you must quickly return the switch to the halfway position (side markers only position) and this will freeze the headlights in a position where thay can be accessed. although this is inconvenient it is the only way to do it. (it may take multiple tries to get it into best position but now that you know the technique it shouldn't be hard. once you have the assembly in the halfway position the rest iis very simple. remove the 4 screws that hold the outer cover to the assembly and place to side. once this is done only 4 screws remain to remove to complete. remove the 4 screws from the chrome trim ring and the headlight will slide out. after removing ring and unplugging bulb, reinstallation of your new 6054 headlight is simply the reverse. best of luck felllow corvette owner:) -Coty- owner of : 84 z51 corvette 96 Lt4 corvette
