You have to have a very slim tool, I happened to have a very slim and narrow spatula, slide it down the front of the headrest support until you hit the mechanism inside and then pull it off while pushing down on the mechanism.

yes, well i have a 84 and im thinking its exactly the same, its jus the four bolts on the plate. that's it..simple as that hten there will be two to four more in by the radio which u will see, that will need to be removed to remove the deck..if nemore ?
