Remove the wiper arms (needs some force - consider a wiper arm removal tool) and store safely. Remove the foam rubbery strip that runs along the front length of the scuttle - this just lifts off. Then just pull the scuttle up and out taking care not to damage the washer jet piping. This can be removed and then the scuttle is freed.
