take rear differential cover off. in the carrier you will see a pin with a 5/16 headed bolt screwed into the side of pin. carefully remove bolt with a 6 point socket. slide pin out. being careful not to turn rearend because the carrier gears may drop down. when pin is removed, push axles in toward the gears and remove the "C" clips holding the axle end. pull axle out.
