Loosen lug nuts (Front Passenger)
Jack up car and rest on good jack stands
Remove wheel (Front Passenger)
Use wrench to loosen tensioner pulley from top (under hood) and remove A/C belt
Loosen bolt under alternateur and on top(on the side closet to the engine mount)
Then use the bolt on the back of the alternateur to loosen alternateur belt tension
and remove that belt as well
Get a good screwdriver and push it through the bottom hole of the crankshaft pulley to
prevent the pulley from rotating backward (and thus rotating the engine
backwards). Push the screwdriver in as far as you can in a way that the pulley
won't have to move backwards very much to get "stuck" on the screwdriver. Test
it slightly to be sure.
Get a 1/2" breaker bar and 1/2" socket appropriate for the crankshaft bolt in the middle
of the pulley. Get a brass hammer and pop the breaker bar. Don't just slam it or
you might mess up the threading inside and then you're looking at a lot more work
or a tow to the shop. It should pop off, but if it doesn't after 1-2 decent knocks then
get a long 1/2" drive extender (use 2 if you need to) so you can get your body
standing up and out from under the car enough to use your weight and strength as
leverage. You will make it a bit easier if you stick a small pipe around the breaker bar
to extend it 6-12" so you can get more leverage. Alternately you can use a good air
impact tool. It's not worth buying one if you don't already have it though. Pull the
bolt out when you loosen it. The pulley will stay on.
Get a good 3 arm pulley from your local auto store. There is one specifically designed
for GM/Chrysler that would be perfect, but you might have to order it or go to a
dealer to purchase it. It will come with some pins. Use the biggest pin you can
without it being so big it could damage the threads inside. The puller's middle bolt
will fit right over the pin you place inside the crank bolt hole. With the 3 arms in place
inside the 3 holes on the side of the pulley, tighten the inside bolt with a wrench.
Get it really tight. You may get it really tight and need to slightly pop the end of
the middle bolt with a brass hammer, and then tighten just a bit more and it will pop
off. Make sure you use a 3 arm puller and use it properly because behind the pulley
is the harmonic balancer, and if you damage it then the part won't absord the
resonance put off by the crankshaft as it turns the pistons and you will cut serious
miles off of your vehicle that way.
It runs off of the nose of the crankshaft, under the crank pulley.
To remove the crank pulley on a 2002 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 V8, first, ensure the vehicle is securely raised and supported. Remove any accessories, such as the serpentine belt and any front covers obstructing access. Use a socket wrench to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt, which may require a long breaker bar for leverage. Once the bolt is removed, gently pull the crank pulley off the crankshaft using a pulley puller if needed.
On 2002 it is located on the lower lefthand portion of the block, to the left of the crankshaft pulley if you are looking front on at the engine
It requires a three jaw puller and a special tool that is inserted in place of the bolt.
Depends on year. 1989 to 1998.5 it is on the front above the crank pulley. 1998.5 to 2002 it is behind the starter. 2003-present it is below the crank pulley.
Front of engine, near crankshaft pulley on passenger side.
Right behind the crank pulley if theres a timing belt cover you'll have to remove it to access it.
Check with your local auto repair shot to see if they rent tools. If so, they likely carry a crankshaft pulley remover. I'm in the process of changing the water pump on my 2002 Intrepid and I rented the tool. Now I have to find the installer because the one they had didn't fit my pulley.
It is bolted to the block beside the crankshaft pulley,it reads the crank pulley.

Raise the left front of the van then remove the wheel and the rubber splash shield. Remove the drive belt and the bolt that retains the pulley to the crankshaft next use a puller to remove the pulley. On installing it you need an installer don't hammer on it, I have seen that done and the crank destroyed. Depending on your location parts stores will loan or rent the puller and installer.
To change the crankshaft front oil seal on a 2002 SC2, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the crankshaft pulley, such as the serpentine belt and timing cover. Next, remove the crankshaft pulley using a puller tool, then carefully pry out the old oil seal. Before installing the new seal, clean the sealing surface and lightly lubricate the seal with oil. Finally, press the new seal into place, reassemble the components, and reconnect the battery.
