Modern headlight assemblies are just lenses and are really more part of the body than they were in older cars, to replace most all headlights on modern vehicles look under the hood behing the outer headlight lens and there is a bulb receptacle that inserts into the fixture, now it varies on how to remove it from one manufacturer to the next but that receptacle will either have a locking ring or will simply turn out of the back of the lens and you can pull out and replace the bulb from there. Be careful not to touch the bulb with your fingers to help it last longer, fingerprints or oil will cause the halogen bulbs to burn out quickly.
Open the hood, remove the two locks that hold the headlight assembly in place, with the two locks removed you can wiggle the headlight assembly out and gain access to the back side of the assembly to remove and replace the headlight bulb.
Look to the back of the headlight assembly. There will be a round sleeve where the wiring goes into the headlight. Twist this counterclockwise to turn the head light bulb assembly. Pull back on the assembly to remove it from the headlight casing. Replace with new headlight bulb.
To replace the headlight on a 2006 Cadillac DTS, start by opening the hood and locating the headlight assembly. i am guessing that you want to change the bulb and not the assembly. to remove the bulb just turn it to the left remove the old bulb replace in the assembly but this time turn it to the right.

1) open the hood. 2) Carefully remove the three screws holding the headlight assembly in place. In my case the screws were black. Be careful as they are screwed into plastic. 3) Carefully slide the headlight assembly out. At this point you can replace the headlight bulb, turn signal bulb, or the entire headlight assembly. Directions straight from the owner's manual. 1. Open the hood and remove the headlight assembly mounting screws. 2. Pull the headlight assembly forward to access the bulbs. 3. Turn the bulb assembly retaining ring counterclockwise and pull the bulb and socket assembly from the housing. 4. Remove the bulb from the socket and replace the bulb. 5. Reinsert the bulb and socket assembly and turn the retaining ring clockwise to secure the bulb. 6. Reinstall the headlight assembly.
Remove the headlight assembly above the bad bulb to gain access to the burned out bulb. To remove the headlight assembly, open the hood, locate and remove the two tabs that lock and hold the assembly in place, with those tabs removed you can wiggle the headlight assembly out in the open. Now you can reach in and r & r the burned out signal bulb
To replace the headlight on a 2009 Jeep Laredo, first, open the hood and locate the headlight assembly. Remove the screws or clips securing the assembly and gently pull it out. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the headlight bulb, then twist and remove the old bulb. Insert the new bulb without touching the glass, reconnect the wiring harness, and reassemble the headlight assembly.
The headlight is an assembly. To replace the headlight, you remove the bulb from the back side. It is a halogen bulb, so do not touch with bare hards before installing.
