I've checked everywhere, and the answer is the same: you have to take out the entire steering column because the ignition switch is an integral part and not removable, like most cars. My switch began sticking, then I couldn't get the key out (eventually did), and now even with the key off, the "key left in ignition switch, you idiot" bell goes off, even if the key isn't in there. I'm going to wear this one out before I tackle or pay someone else to do this job. I know it isn't much help, but I've checked the Ford factory manuals, and there's a special tool (of course) you need and you have to remove the air bag, steering wheel, etc. before you get near the switch, and then you can't change it, only to find out the entire column must leave the premises before you can even think about working on it. Oh well.....
