Usually GM products use a clip like a plastic rivet to hold their trim pannels on. I have a 98' S10 and the best way I came up with was to get a tool from the local napa, with two prongs that is made for this purpose, they should know what you are talking about. Start at the bottom of the door and work your way up, because the top of the pannel is kind of hooked at the top by the window. If you have power locks or windows you need to disconnect the switches, but I don't have those.
