First, you are going to remove all plastic trim working (around side windows, and above the back seat. Next, you will see a series of star pattern bolts, with a hole in the middle. (You can buy a similar socket kit at any wal-mart, advanced auto, etc.) You will then take every bolt out, besides 2, which are located at the top corner of the back windows (they will need to unscrewed, until they no longer turn. After all bolts are taken out, look to the tailgate on the driver's side. You will see a a plug that will disengage your 3rd brake light. After this is done, you will the be able to lift the top straight up, and then back. Keep in mind, the top is not that heavy, but bulky, so get another person. Make sure you keep all parts (bolts, etc) that you take off. These can be pain to find if lost!! And now, go cruise the roads!
no, because it has integral tail lamps in the roof and the seatbelts arent connected to the top
Remove the interior trim along the rear windows and between the cab and fiberglass roof. Take out all the bolts that you expose. Slide the roof back slightly then lift it and set it down somewhere safe.
yes , top can be removed. remove trim along bottom sides of top, also remove trim where front of top meets roof of cab then remove bolts that hold top to vehicle. then with some buddies, lift top off
No. They cut out the original roof, and place the fiberglass in place over the hole. You could remove if you welded on a new roof panel.
remove the screws from the swivel bracket that is attached to the roof to replace reverse the process
To remove the headliner on the 1998 Ford Escort, first remove both of the visors by removing their screws. Then, remove the trim from around the edges of the interior roof. Then, pull the headliner down from the ceiling.
Go here.Can_you_remove_the_roof_off_of_a_1994_bronco_and_how_do_you_do_it These directions are for a 92-96 model, but the steps are basically the same for all other full size models.
To remove the Ford Capri XR2 convertible roof latch, first, ensure the roof is fully closed to access the latch easily. Use a screwdriver to remove any screws securing the latch to the frame. After detaching the screws, gently pull the latch away from its mounting point. If needed, consult a repair manual for specific torque settings or additional steps for your model.
The Bronco's design was intended to have the top come off so every year bronco's top can come off but they only make soft tops up to 77 for the bronco so before you try to take yours off think about getting a custom made one or the seal of the roof wont be the same.
Yes you can remove the rear fiberglass roof (although it can be dangerous in a roll over). All you do is remove the trim around the rear top. After you remove the trim remove the bolts that go all the way around the top (you're gonna need a special torx bit since the bolts are the tamper-proof kind). After you remove the bolts you have to lift the top up and back away from the cab at the same time. There are guide poles that stick down about an inch from the rear bottom edges of the top, so be careful you dont break them off. You will also have to remove the plug for the rear break light on the top. It's by the rear driver's side corner. Also remember to unbolt the rear shoulder belts that are mounted to the roof on 92-96 models. The top is pretty heavy (about 180 pounds) so get somebody to help you with it. It's pretty bulky so it helps to have someone else to help you balance it. Be sure to set the top on something, not just the floor, so you won't damage the bottom edges or else it might not seal back properly when (or if) you put it back on. Step by step directions can be found in a Haynes (or other company's) Auto Repair Manual for an 80-96 Ford F-Series/Bronco which you can buy at any good local auto shop for around 20 bucks. These also have lots of other helpful information for minor (and major) repairs you might do. Note- removing the top off of a Ford Bronco 1992 or newer renders the car illegal for street driving because of the third tail light and shoulder seat-belts mounted on the roof. It's okay if you have a 1991 or older Bronco, or just drive off-road with the top off, but Ford never intended the roof to come off of the newer Broncos on-road.
yes you need to go to mechanic or call fords number and ask that.
You have to remove the whole inside top, the sun v,the overhead console and the hanger hooks. It's a lot of work. But if your car is leaking or the sun roof is off track be prepared to spend about 6 hours fixing it.
