There's a pin in the knob on the side facing your dash, under the grip is a double sided pin that looks like a giant staple, remove that and it will come right off!
carefully pop out the shifter button then remove the snap ring
remove the entire dashboard.
you usually have to take apart the entire dash to get to it
Put it in park, pull the button off the shifter, it will come off without hurting anything, just has a clip inside. Next remove the snap ring inside the knob, and it pulls off.
3rd Gen also. Follow the directions for a 91 & 92.
well you can change the entire rear hatch with that of a trans am's but I dont think it would be worth the the money to convert the car into a trans am style car.
Considering that there is no such thing as a Ford Firebird, I would say its impossible. I'm guessing you're trying to say either a Ford Thunderbird or a Pontiac Firebird. And both are VERY different to take out
i wont to change my shifter but cant take off old one
You can replace the ignition lock cylinder in your 1994 Pontiac Firebird without removing the steering will. Remove the retaining ring at the top of the ignition cylinder. The ignition cylinder will slide out.
Yes, you can change the shifter handle. Remove the hairpin clip at the front side of the handle and lift the handle from the metal pipe.
its underneath the steering wheel... you just need to remove the cover and its right there
There is a plastic rod inside of the shifter arm, it unlocks the shifter from the park position when the button on the shifter handle is pressed. So, press in on the shifter button and pull the shift handle straight UP (you might have to pull hard). You should be able to remove the broken pieces of the plastic rod with some wire. You might have to go to a junk yard for a replacement.
