bug spray ought to do it
how do you remove the spider gears in a 1999 chevy siverado?
Take away the webbing
First remove rear cover then remove cross pin bolt. Once bolt is removed then slide out cross pin. After cross pin is removed then use your fingers and spin the spider gears out.

You don't
You need to remove a bolt inline with the axles on the spider gears which holds the center pin in place. Remove the pin, rotate the spider gears to the other side. Now move the axles inward to reveal the c-clips and use a hemostat to remove. Of course the the truck is up on jacks with the tires removed.
Remove the bolt in the pin then u may have to get a chisle and hammer and knock it out
This is not advisable as the car will not operate without them.
on my trailblazer when my trans went out u can hear it grinding u can hear the gears starting to break and your will start to putter a new trans will cost u about 1900 good luck
Spider gears are the side gears in a differential - the little gears that divide the input power between the two wheels.
If you look at the carrier you will see a big pin that goe's through the spider gears and carrier. Turn the carrier around until you see a small bolt on the right side of it. Remove the bolt that is what holds the pin in the carrier. Then pull the pin out towards you. Then push the axel's in and the c-clips will fall out. Then put pin back in so the spider gears don't fall out.
