It's located underneath the engine for some psychotic reason. Maybe they want to make sure that you cannot do it yourself.
Follow the top radiator hose to the engine. It goes to the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts in the housing and the thermostat is right below it.
The thermostat on a 2.7L Dodge Intrepid is under the housing where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine.
There's a gasket between the thermostat and the block that you need to replace.
