how to remove rear axle from 1988 f250 ford
Ball joints can be a very time consuming affair, but is a required maintenance item for most trucks. The first step is usually removing the steering knuckle. This process is different for various vehicles. To do this you must remove the wheel. Remove the outer tie rod for the steering. Detach brake caliper from knuckle, and set aside. Remove brake rotor. Remove the ball joint retaining nuts. remove or disconnect the axle if 4wd is applicable. Remove the steering knuckle. On most fords the upper ball joint is replaced as one piece with the upper control arm mounted on the frame by two bolts. This may be different on the larger trucks. The lower ball joint should be pressed out and in with a ball joint press (Which can be very expensive.) When finished with ball joints an alignment is needed on many vehicles. That is just a real quick list of things to do on most ball joint jobs. I hope it is helpful.

However, it's important to ensure that the rim size and tire specifications are compatible with the 1987 model to avoid any clearance issues. Always verify the specific measurements and check for any modifications that might affect fitment.
