A big pain! Pay someone to do it. It took me 2 weeks of nights 4 hours at a time, and it would fill a book to explain. You have to remove the entire top and sides of motor down to pistons and engine block. If you really want to attempt...get a chilton's book and follow the steps VERY carefully. You will need a full set of mechanic's tools including torque wrenches for foot pounds and inch pounds and a quality puller set. Plan on your car being out of use for about 20 hours of one man work. GOOD LUCK!
You must replace the defective gasket. There is no other permanent fix.
I don't understand the question. Seems to be missing some words. You need to replace the head gasket if it is bad or if the head is coming off for another purpose.
Replacing a head gasket on a 1996 Honda Accord requires removal of the cylinder head, timing belt, and several other components. The head will need to be resurfaced. Remove the old gasket and place the new one with gasket sealer. Reinstalled the head.
Replace it , meaning the cracked head or the gasket . Neither can be repaired . The head can be repaired if its only warped from overheating by having it surfaced . It is best on the 8 valve or the 16 valve engines to replace with new parts.
It could be your head gasket... is it blowing blue smoke out the back? or you could have a messed up valve or something It could be your head gasket... is it blowing blue smoke out the back? or you could have a messed up valve or something
intake gasket or head gasket
What all do I have to take off to get to the headlights. I just want to change the bulb can anyone help? Its a 1996 LHS.
I have a 1999 jeep 4.0 . I usually work on my own vehicles . When the head gasket went I purchased the gasket , some brake and carb cleaner . Remove the head , clean reinstall new head gasket . I used a belt sander to clean the surface of the old head . Total cost $96 and about 10 hours of time
In your dreams bubela! Buy a new gasket.
IMO, yes, I would replace the head blots especially if the head has been off before. This is just good insurance.
Possible cracked head, or head gasket needs replacement.
The factory amplifier on a 96 chrysler lhs is located in the trunk under the carpeting on the driver side.
