you have to remove the rear seat. from there there is a rubber mat pull that back and it should all be right there.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion and unplug the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
  4. Unfasten and remove the four pump cover screws and the ground strap.
  5. Unfasten the fuel tube clips and disconnect the tubes from the pump.
  6. Use a fuel pump locking ring removal tool or a brass drift and a hammer to unfasten the pump locking retaining ring.
  7. Remove the fuel pump and gasket from the tank.

What is the difference between the Mercury Tracer Trio and the regular Mercury Tracer?

The second generation Tracer (91-95) Trio was a sport model which came with 14" alloy wheels, a trunk spoiler and a leather wrapped steering wheel. Everything else between the two cars is the same. I unfortunately don't know about later models, but I would imagine the same sort of thing to be true. ~PorkPoney I have a '94 Tracer Trio. In addition to the 14" alloy sport wheels with 60 series tires, rear spoiler on trunk, and leather wrapped steering wheel, the Trio package had dual electric control side mirrors and rear window defroster included.
