You have to partially remove and pull back the plastic outer bumper skin to access the sensor, depending on which one( which bumper sensor) needs to be replaced. There are reusable push pins located along the top horizontal surface, and bottom edges of the plastic bumper. You will need to remove a nut and 1 or two Phillips screw at the edge of the wheel well to free up the bumper. Once the bumper is pulled away, you will have access to the back of the sensor. Unplug the electrical connector and using a mini slotted screw driver you should see a tab on each side of the sensor that will need to either pried lightly or pushed in to remove the sensor. Be VERY careful with this stage. If you break any portion of the black plastic mounts you CANNOT purchase them separately from GM!!! Use extreme caution and take your time! Also, you can test the individual sensors while the vehicle is in reverse and ignition and back up console switch turned on, by using an engine stethoscope or a thin, long screwdriver. Gently touch the blade of the screwdriver on the head (outside exposed round painted part of the sensor) and listening with the handle portion to your ear. You will hear a very light clicking sound if the sensor is working. Also check the wiring that comes off the back of the sensor as they are common to corrode.
