Exhaust Manifold Removal & Installation 4.6L, 5.4L and 6.8L Engines 1. Raise and safely support the vehicle. 2. Remove the front fender splash shield. 3. For the left-hand exhaust manifold, remove the EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube and disconnect the Differential Pressure Feedback Exhaust [DPFE] gas recirculation transducer hoses. 4. Remove the oil stick from the engine. 5. On the 4.6L and 5.4L engines, remove the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold bolts. On the 6.8L engine, remove the front exhaust pipe from the manifold. 6. Remove the exhaust manifold mounting nuts, then remove the exhaust manifold itself. 7. Remove and discard the old gasket. 8. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold for damage. To install: 9. Position a new gasket and the exhaust manifold onto the engine block. 10. Install the mounting nuts and tighten, in the sequence shown, to 13-16 ft.lbs. [18-22 Nm] on the 4.6L and 5.4L engines. Tighten the nuts to 17-20 ft.lbs. [23-27 Nm] on the 6.8L engine. {Tighten the passenger side exhaust manifold bolts in the order shown-4.6L and 5.4L engines} Kriss x kross 11. On the 6.8L engine, tighten the exhaust manifold-to-front pipe fasteners to 27-34 ft.lbs. [34-46 Nm]. 12. On the 4.6L and 5.4L engines, attach the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold, then install the catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold bolts and tighten to 25-34 ft. lbs. [34-46 Nm]. 13. Install the oil stick. 14. For the left-hand exhaust manifold, install the PDFE transducer hoses if equipped, and EGR-to-exhaust manifold tube. Tighten the upper and lower fitting to 26-33 lbs. [35-45 Nm]. 15. Install the front fender splash shield. 16. Lower the vehicle to the ground.

How do you replace exhaust manifold gaskets on 2006 Nissan Titan?

To replace the exhaust manifold gaskets on a 2006 Nissan Titan, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove any components obstructing access to the exhaust manifold, such as heat shields or intake parts. Then, unbolt the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head and carefully remove the old gaskets. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly before placing new gaskets and reassembling the manifold, ensuring all bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications. Finally, reconnect any removed components and the negative battery terminal.

What to do with Oil leaks by manifold?

If you are talking about the EXHAUST manifold then most of the time it's the valve cover gasket that is leaking oil. REPLACE VALVE COVER GASKETS. If you are talking about the intake manifold then it has 2 rubber gaskets in the front and rear of it that leak oil real bad. If oil is on the left are right top sides of the intake manifold were the valve covers are then it will be the valve cover gaskets that are leaking oil.

What is a blown manifold exhaust gasket?

A blown manifold exhaust gasket, is simple to explain. The Exhaust manifold ,are bolted to your heads. Which the exhaust pipes are connected to. There is a gasket that goes between the Header and head. What you have is that the gasket is leaking. To fix the problem you have to unbolt the manifold from the head and replace all the gaskets. Dependeing on make and model, you may have a one peice gasket or if you have individual gaskets. all you do is loosen the Mainifold and slip out the old ones and slip in the new ones. Depending on how old and rusty your Mainfold is , you might have to unbolt the Mainifold all the way off. and/of take of the exhaust pipe. But it should be simple. Hope that helps out some.
