What you will need: New solenoid - 4 quarts of Mercon V Transmission Fluid - Carb cleaner to remove old gasket maker - tube of gasket maker to seal - oil bucket

First, make sure car is cooled way down before starting.

Jack the car up. The transmission oil pan will be on drivers side of the car.

Loosen the bolts around the drip pan (take out all but one on each end) and let the fluid slowly come out into a drip pan.

Then take off the pan lid and set aside.

Locate Solenoid A (the one with the WHITE wire) Should be located in the middle on side closest to passenger side of car)

Unhook and set aside. Put in the new solenoid.

Use carb cleaner to remove the old gasket maker on the oil reservoir lid. You will want to remove most of this old gasket maker so that when you apply new gasket maker, it will create a tight seal with no opportunity to leak.

Also, clean out the pan so no debris is left in there.

Apply new gasket maker all around the edge of pan (and on the INSIDE of the screw holes). LET SIT FOR ONE HOUR SO IT MAY SET.

Then place lid onto the oil reservoir and start screwing in the screws. Do not screw TOO tight as this will make the gasket maker seep out too much and will not provide a good seal once it is completely set (24 hours).

Refill transmission fluid through top dipstick tube. Poor slowly (will burp - be careful not to get onto face or in mouth). 3-1/2 quarts is probably enough. I used 4.

Close hood. Start car - press on break and slowly shift gear from P - R - N - D - 2 -1. Then, put into drive and slowly press on gas and test out your cars shifting by accelerating slowly up to 30 mph. If your car shifts correctly, you successfully replaced your Shift Solenoid!!
