How do you replace the alternator on a 1998 Ford Contour?

If its a 98 Contour 2.5 v-6...the below info is misleading!!!This is a very simple job, disconnect the battery(10mm). Then disconnect the ground and power steering line on top of the valve cover(6mm). Then take the power cable off the alternator using a 10mm socket, tuck it away, lossen the two bolts on the alternator(13mm), you can take the one in the right all the way out, draw the bolt on the left out about 2 inches,then using a fatmax or another pry bar insirt it on the side of the alternator that you took the bolt out, pry towards the windshield. will take a few min of playing with it to get it off. The bracket has a groove in it for the bolt on the left to come out! once out, tilt the alternator pulley up and remove the clip with a flathead screwdriver. With the pulley up the alternator will come right out, then just reverse everything to put on the new alternator! NO need to drain oil, or remove the bracket that holds the alternator, waste of time and uneeded work! I have done about 20 of these and from start to finish takes me 40 min. If it's your first time just go slow pay attention should take you about an hour 1/2!
