Unbolt distributor cap. lift rotor off, remove and install new cam sensor (pick up plate) and reinstall rotor and cap.

The cam sensor is part of the distributor. You have to replace the entire distributor.
The 94 and 95 are the same,no cam sensor.1996 and 1997 are differant in one way.The 1996 and 1997 have a cam sensor. .The 97 has a cam sensor and the 94 does not.The 1996 has a cam sensor too.
A 2002 Dodge does have a cam sensor, but the 318 was not offered after 2001.
Cam sensor on 1996 Dodge intrepid 3.5 V6 is on the driver's side on top where the cam gear turns on the front of the engine.. Usually has a 90 deg. connector for the wires.. MUST be air gapped correctly to work proplerly.. DO NOT Bottom the sensor out against the cam gear unless the new sensor has a card board disc glued to the end of the sensor to set the gap... You have to buy and replace the entire distributor.
Rear camshaft seal bad. Replace. located behind cam sensor.
A 1989 5.9L Cummins does not have a cam sensor.
I think you will have to replace the assembly, Not sure if cam sensor is available seperatly.
