You didn't say what year you have but, later models require removing the door panel, disconnecting the wire harness, removing the detent spring and drive out the two hinge pins. The spring will need a special tool to replace.
You don't want to replace the hinges unless you have no choice. The original hinges are welded in to the door and the cab. They can be replaced but it is a expensive job. In most cases you can replace the hinge pins and bushings to restore the hinges back to normal. The pins and bushings are available at your local auto parts store.

From your question, it seems as if you're referring to the catch which the door latches onto. Honestly, take it off (IIRC, it requires a T40 Torx bit) and replace it.
