disconnect the two black rubber lines in the fire wall on the passenger side of the truck. take out the glove box. take off the black cover and pull out the core. to install it, reverse the steps.

To replace the heater core in a 1999 Ford E-150 van, begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable and draining the coolant. Next, remove the dashboard components, including the center console, to access the heater core housing. Detach the hoses connected to the heater core, then unbolt and remove the heater core from the housing. Install the new heater core, reassemble the components, and refill the coolant before reconnecting the battery.
To replace the heater core in a 2002 Ford E-150 van, first, disconnect the battery and drain the coolant from the radiator. Remove the dashboard and the center console to access the heater core, which is located behind the firewall. Disconnect the hoses and mounting bolts securing the heater core, then replace it with the new unit and reassemble everything in reverse order. Finally, refill the coolant, bleed the system, and reconnect the battery.
you have pictures and insruction which screw come first and last .
There is no short cut or fast way to do this. The dash has to come out to access the heater box and replace the core. So the steps in replacing the heater core are to disconnect the heater hoses, remove the dash, to access the heater core cover on the front of the heater case and replace the core. Reassembly is in the reverse order as disassembly. Fill the cooling system with new coolant, and burp the air form the cooling system.
The heater core (a small radiator for your heat) is leaking, I would suggest a new heater core as they are about as cheep to replace as they are to repair.
if antifreez is blowing into cab, u need to replace the heater core the core has a hole in it. thses are not repairable and they are cheap to buy
That will depend on the year of the vehicle. It will be impossible to answer this question without knowing what year we are working on.
Behind the dashboard, usually on the passenger side. Look in the engine compartment for the hoses that go from the engine through the firewall. Those are generally the heater hoses, which go to the heater core.
1- Drain coolant. 2- remove heater hoses from core inlet and outlet pipes in engine compartment. 3-remove screws and heater core cover. ( right side lower passenger compartment ) 4- carefully lower core out of heater unit. This old of a truck it would be wise to replace both heater hoses. Use antifreeze as a lubricant to install heater hoses to new core inlets.
heater core is in back of the glove box
