It's kind of a pain. Open the trunk and you should notice that the back -- where you'd ordinarily look for the turn signal bulbs -- is all carpeted. There are black knobs sticking out of the carpet near the corners, somewhat near where the turn signals are on the outside. These knobs are really screws and they have to be removed. Once you do and you pull the carpeting away from the frame you should be able to access the bulbs. (When we changed these on my car we made sure they fixed the problem before re-attaching the screws, and we put in new bulbs all around because we didn't want to have to do it again any time soon.)
