There are 2 10mm bolt below the filler cap..the thermostat is below the cap., when inserting the new cap the spring portion goes facing toward the engine block.there is a grove where the new thermostat needs to set on the filler. do not over tighten cause you will crack the plastic ant it will set you back and additional $30 ...good luck...from a scale to 1 to 10 this is a 1
