How to replace the belt
Bob
Need to replace the water pump.
The guy that changed the pump on the 98 Chevy Truck helped me on my 97 Dakota.
The water pump is inside the timing cover and is run by the timing belt. If you are going to replace it, change out the belt at the same time.
The front does have to be dissassembled to access the timing belt, which drives the wate pump.
To replace the water pump on a 1995 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and draining the coolant. Remove the serpentine belt, then take off any components obstructing access to the water pump, such as the power steering pump or brackets. Unbolt the water pump from the engine block, clean the mounting surface, and install the new pump with a new gasket. Finally, reassemble the components, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
Thermostat may be stuck, replace it.
