To reset the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) on a 2002 Ford Explorer, disconnect the vehicle's battery by removing the negative terminal for about 15 minutes. This will allow the module to clear any stored error codes and reset its functions. After the time has elapsed, reconnect the battery terminal and start the vehicle to ensure the GEM has reset properly. If issues persist, further diagnostics may be necessary.

There is no factory reset code for keyless entry on a 2000 Ford Excursion. To find the code, locate the module underneath the dashboard. You may need a borescope to look at the number.
We had this same problem on our 1998 Toyota Sienna; one dealer wanted $400 to replace the computer module inside the dash and another dealer quoted us $200. They also tried to "reset" the module but said it was "bad." However, last month our battery died and it was 6 years old so time to get a new one. After install of new battery, suddenly my automatic locks starting working again at ignition, so I tried my remote keyless entry fob and VOILA--keyless entry now works! I'm guessing the system reset on its own with the loss of power. SO--try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes. This may reset your keyless entry as well. Best wishes! ~K. Gollnick
You might need to programming the remote. Their should be instructions in the users manual. You're remote could also be need new batteries.
To reset the keyless receiver on a 1992 Cadillac DeVille, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition. Then, locate the keyless entry module, usually found in the trunk or under the dashboard. Disconnect the module's power connector for about 10 seconds, then reconnect it. Finally, reprogram the keyless entry remotes as needed to complete the reset.
To reset the alarm on a 1998 Chrysler Sebring, you will typically need to locate the alarm system's control module. This module is often found under the driver's side dashboard or near the fuse box. Once you locate the control module, you may need to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the alarm system. Reconnect the battery, and the alarm should be reset. If this does not work, consult the vehicle's manual or a professional mechanic for further assistance.
It should be on the keyless entry control module behind the fuse box (below steering column) on the firewall. It's a five digit number 1xxxx.
The key fob doesn't get reset... the keyless entry module gets programmed to accept commands from that key fob. If your key fob suddenly stops working and it's not a battery issue, then you either have a problem with your key fob itself, or the keyless entry module, and it'll need to be diagnosed and repaired accordingly.
