To reset the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) on a 1999 Saturn L series, disconnect the negative battery cable and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes to allow any residual power to drain. This helps clear any stored trouble codes and resets the PCM. After that, reconnect the battery cable, and the PCM will be reset. It's also helpful to drive the car for a short distance to allow the PCM to recalibrate itself.

To reset the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) on a 1999 Saturn, disconnect the negative battery cable and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes. This allows the PCM to clear any stored trouble codes and resets its adaptive memory. After that, reconnect the battery cable, and your PCM will be reset. It's also a good idea to drive the vehicle for a while to allow the PCM to relearn its parameters.
Idle is computer controlled by the pcm (computer)-not adjustable.
The PCM is inside the dashboard, to the right of the glove box.
If you are talking about the engine pcm, is located on top of the engine on the driver side.
The ASD is a relay controlled by the PCM and does not have a reset. The ASD is a relay controlled by the PCM and does not have a reset.
PCM = Powertrain Control Module. It's a dedicated real-time computer system that controls just about everything to do with the operation of the vehicle. They are quite small, rugged and reliable. While a PCM CAN fail, the simple reality is, they seldom do.The PCM controls the timing and duration of the fuel injectors. It controls the spark advance and the EGR, transmission shift points and generally anything else that can affect the performance, emissions and economy. The PCM collects data regarding the operating status of the engine, including operating temperature, air temperature, air flow, throttle position, vehicle speed, amount of oxygen in the exhaust, wheel slippage and anything else that the engineers may have considered significant or just plain "nice".The PCM for a 1999 S series Saturn is behind the dashboard, just to the right of the glove box.
PCM is located on the driver side, under the dash. You have to remove the dashboard that is held down by 2 screws, located in the middle, and clips.
I don't know what kind of Saturn you have but it probably is in the right kick panel by the pass right foot. The PCM is located inside the passenger compartment under the dashboard tucked into the corner near the ABS module on the driver's side. The PCM is easily distinguished by the aluminum fins attached to the bottom of the module. BUT on a 1992 Saturn it is on the DRIVERS side. Look up under the dash to door side. You'll see it. 3 wire harnesses attached. ONE phillips-head-type bolt holds in it. About a half a twist on it and tug a little and it should drop right down. cheers If your Saturn is an S-Series (SC, SC1, SC2, SL, SL2, SL2, SW1 or SW2), its not on the passenger side. No Saturn S-Series had them on the passenger side. If its a 1991-1999, its just as described above. If its a 2000-2002, its just behind the battery. And a little FYI, the Saturn PCM's rarely fail. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning in a cave 1000 feet under ground than having your PCM fail.
Unhook the battery for a minute to reset the PCM.
Timing is done by the PCM. No manual timing can be done with out a new PCM
